Sign up for June 4 Parkinson Open golf fund raiser
The Midwest Chapter’s 4th annual Parkinson Open Golf Fund Raiser welcomes golfers of all skill levels to enjoy a fun day of golf, prizes, good food and good company. Hear visiting golf pro Cherie Zaun’s personal story of courage and determination, and join us in honoring Joe Scully as Player of the Year. Your participation helps support the Chapter’s Respite Care and education programs, as well as other local programs.
Joe has lived with Parkinson’s for more than 37 years. He retired only nine years ago after a long and successful career as CEO of St. Paul Federal Bank. Dedicating his time to help others, Joe has served on business, university, and community boards and is active in charities in Chicago and Oak Park, where he and his wife, Judy, raised their five children.
Five years ago, Joe had deep brain stimulation surgery to relieve unrelenting tremors and dyskinesia. Today, he enjoys attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and continues to indulge his passion for playing golf.

In her 20’s, visiting golf pro Cherie Zaun played on the Ladies Professional Golf (LPGA) Tour, and then put her career on hold to raise a family. In the early 1990’s, she returned to the game she loves, coaching women’s golf at USC, and then playing on the Ladies Futures Tour for three years.
Cherie’s golf game started to suffer in 2000, and three years later she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Believing that knowledge is power, she set out to fight this disease by learning more about it each day. Today, she teaches and plays golf again.
If you know any golfers who would like to participate, please let them know of this event. Join us as a golfer, sponsor, or make a donation.
