Help us find a cure for Parkinson’s… Join the APDA Midwest Chapter

You can play a vital role in finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease (PD) by joining the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) Midwest Chapter (MC). Our members are our greatest resource in the fight against PD.
Your $15 annual dues will help advance research aimed at conquering PD in our lifetime.

History shows us the power and possibility of grassroots organizations, like APDA. Polio was defeated not by government or corporate funding, but by millions of ordinary Americans who, month after month for 17 years, donated spare change (to what is today the March of Dimes) to fund research to develop a vaccine against polio. In 1955, the Salk vaccine became available to the public. Today, almost all babies receive it, and no new cases of polio have been reported in the Western Hemisphere in 16 years.

Then, as now, scientists’ knowledge, skills, and dedication to a shared goal take them only so far. Igniting action requires funding research. Every contribution, no matter how small, moves us closer to finding a cure for PD. Your support makes a difference.

By joining the APDA MC, you also will enjoy immediate personal benefits including:

  • The opportunity to connect with the larger PD community and be among the first to learn about new treatments.
  • A free subscription to our newsletter, which is published three times per year.
  • Eligibility for up to $500 per year in subsidies to help pay for short term care for the person with Parkinson’s so care partners have respite or “time out” to take care of their own needs.
  • One reduced price ticket to our annual Spring symposium featuring nationally renowned speakers addressing topics important to the PD community.
  • Eligibility to participate in the election of Chapter Board members, and to serve on the Executive Board yourself.
