and Referral Centers
The American
Parkinson Disease Association Information and Referral Center is part of a national
network of information and referral centers throughout the United States and are supported
by the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA), and committed to educating
and encouraging people with Parkinson disease (PD) and those who care about
them.
The centers provides information, referrals, educational programs and support
services to anyone with questions or concerns about Parkinson disease.
Health care providers can also utilize the Center for the latest information
on research and treatment of Parkinson disease.
Resources Available...
A variety of educational programs and services for understanding
and coping with Parkinsons disease.
Information booklets on diets, exercise, adaptive suggestions,
and other topics including the Parkinsons Disease Handbook: a guide for
Patients and Families.
Referrals to physicians and services locally and throughout
the Unitd States.
Support groups which offer education about the disease and
the opportunity to discuss related issues.
Lending Library of PD-related books, videotapes and DVDs.
Information Line with helpful staff to answer your questions.
Volunteer
opportunities for people interested in assisting the Centers in providing
services.
In-service education programs for institutions, organizations, and agencies.
Young-onset PD resources and programs.
